The Miner Podcast was founded in April 2025 by Mabushe Tsima, a Mining Engineering graduate, shift supervisor, and candidate for both the Mine Overseer’s and Mine Manager’s Certificates. The idea was born from a desire to create a space where mining professionals, students, communities, and industry leaders could share their real stories, challenges, and successes.
From the underground shafts to corporate boardrooms, we are dedicated to bridging the gap between all levels of the mining industry.
Our Journey So Far
April 2025 – The Beginning
With only a mobile recording setup, we began interviewing miners and community members — sometimes inside a vehicle — to capture honest, on-the-ground stories.May – July 2025 – Rapid Growth
Episodes featured voices from mineworkers, students, industry representatives, and community leaders. Our audience grew quickly across YouTube, TikTok, X, and Spotify Podcasts, reaching over 1 million total views and streams in just a few months.August 7, 2025 – The Shift to Studio Recording
As demand grew, we transitioned to professional studio recordings — delivering higher quality content while staying rooted in our community-focused mission.
